O Hamas afirma que o n\u00famero de v\u00edtimas \u00e9 superior a 870. O presidente da Autoridade Nacional Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, decretou tr\u00eas dias de luto em resposta a este incidente. O hospital Al-Ahli Arabi, fundado em 1882, \u00e9 um dos mais antigos de Gaza e estava sendo usado para abrigar pacientes, feridos e pessoas deslocadas devido aos ataques a\u00e9reos.
